A Corduroy Skirt and Hibiscus Flowers

P1510157

Hi Everyone,

I am coming at you with another outfit post today. This corduroy skirt is something that I picked up from Topshop a couple of months ago. I absolutely love the colour. The style of the skirt actually reminds me of something I used to own when I was younger. It’s funny how fashion can repeat itself. The black top from Monki is just a plain v-neck sleeveless top; however, I find that the simplest items are always my most worn. I’ve seriously been wearing this at every opportunity. It’s so easy to wear with any item in my wardrobe. I then layered several simple necklaces to add more detail.

My family have hibiscus flowers in our garden so whenever I see them they remind me of home. I never see them in Melbourne so it’s always nice to go home and see them in our driveway. Something that I used to do every weekend with my parents and brother was to go riding down by the River Torrens, which is where these photos were taken. We would feed the ducks and then play on the playground that was close by. It’s one of my favourite childhood memories.

What is one of your favourite childhood memories?
Jess

  1. I love that skirt! The colour is lovely for this time of year but I also think it’s one of those pieces that would work all year round. Yes, the simplest items just work with with everything, I sometimes find it hard to style a statement piece in many different ways.

    1. So true! You could layer it with tights and boots in Winter 🙂 I’m the same. I sometimes feel like everything needs to be super simple when you wear a statement piece and there’s only so much you can do. I end up wearing a similar outfit and just change the necklace! Thank you for reading x
