Natural Makeup Routine

Hi Everyone,

Today’s post is all about my natural makeup routine. It’s the routine that I have been doing when I want to wear makeup but don’t want to look like I am wearing makeup. Sounds silly when I type it out but I’m sure I’m not the only one who has these days! Let me know what products you like to use on days like these in the comment section below. I’ve included swatches with all the colour products as well just in case you were interested.

RMK Gel Creamy Foundation in 104

I don’t want to give too much away with this foundation because I have an in-depth review coming up soon but let’s just say that this has been my foundation of choice for the last 1-2 years. In short, it’s a medium coverage foundation with a satin finish that is buildable. You can use your fingers or buff it in with a brush but most of the time I use my fingers.

Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Peach

I use this corrector every time I put my makeup on and it’s well loved as you can see by the pan. It does a great job at hiding my under eye circles when I haven’t had enough sleep. The concealer is creamy in consistency however, I swear they have changed the formula of this product. I haven;t looked it up but my previous two correctors were creamier. This feels drier upon application. The product is buildable and easy to blend out with either your fingers or a brush.

NARS Creamy Concealer in Ginger

It’s official, I’m now a lover of the NARS Creamy Concealer. As I mentioned in my “New Purchase Update” post (click here) this concealer has more of a mousse like consistency and blends easily. What I love most about it though is the fact that I can use it for my hyper-pigmentation, acne scars and under my eyes which is extremely important in the morning when I’m in a rush and I don’t want to faff around with many products! I do need to set it to help it last throughout the day and depending on your skin type, you may need to touch it up throughout the day too. The Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is a good alternative if you’re looking for something a bit more affordable but they are not dupes. If you’re interested you can read about it more if you click the link above.

Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Creamy Cheeks in 03 Peace Pink

When swatched this product looks like an intense bubblegum pink, but when used sparingly on the cheeks it gives them a natural flush. The formula is extremely creamy but sets like a stain. I always use a powder blush on top to set it and it will last throughout the day.

Illamasqua Blush Duo in Lover & Hussy

I rediscovered this duo recently at the back of my blush stash. Illamasqua have a few blush duos available but this one is my favourite. Despite the bulky packaging I often take this duo on trips with me because it means I have the equivalent of three blushes on hand – a peach, a pink and peachy pink blush if I mix the two. I have been using Hussy (the pink shade) over my Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Creamy Cheeks blush to set it. The result is a nice rosy glow which brightens my complexion.

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeliner in Taupe

This is the eyeliner that I use when I want to define my eyes but don’t want to use something as harsh as a brown or black eyeliner. I apply a thin line across the top of my eyelashes and that’s it! The pencil glides on easily and the formula is smooth and creamy. It’s the perfect product when I want my eyes to appear more awake. This pencil has been repurchased so we definitely know it’s a winner when that happens!

Maybelline Rocket Volum’ Express Mascara (Waterproof)

I have been using my Maybelline Rocket Mascara for the last couple of months. I use the waterproof version so that my lashes will stay curled throughout the day. For my short straight lashes this mascara provides volume, separation and definition. While it lengthens, it is not to the extent of other mascaras that I’ve tried, such as the Majolica Majorca Lash King and the Heroine Make Long and Curl mascara. It does not clump on application or smudge throughout the day.

Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie

Fact: My Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie is the only lipstick that I have ever finished and repurchased! These lip butters were all the rage when they came out ages ago. This was my go-to everyday lip colour since it was a my lips but better colour. When I finished it I felt like I shouldn’t buy it again because I had lip products coming out of my ears! I did cave when I saw this on sale for around $6 in Malaysia last year and snapped it up. It is a beautiful berry shade and the swatch above is true to colour. I love the moisturising formula and how I can slap this on and not think about it.

  1. I’ve been thinking about buying the Bobbi Brown corrector for sometime now. Thanks for posting this tutorial and for the review of the BB corrector.

  2. Thanks for sharing. I love having a natural makeup routine Monday – Friday and then dressing it up on the weekends. But I was really looking forward to seeing a pic of all your makeup on at the end of the post

    1. I’m sorry 🙁 I completely forgot until I was writing the post! I have another natural look with photos on my RMK foundation review which I just posted. The lip colour is the same. Thank you so much for reading x

  3. Pretty pictures! I actually hardly wear makeup, so anytime I do, it’s pretty natural 😉 I mentioned this on another post, but I love those Lip Butters! And I’m always in need of good concealers – I don’t typically spring for those brands, but I may need to.

    1. A good concealer is essential for me! I prefer a good concealer over a foundation actually. I really love these concealers but the Maybelline Fit Me concealer is also a good alternative! 🙂 Thank you for reading x
